The first game of the 2009 season took place last saturday at Portlaoise RFC. Our opponents, the North Dublin Eagles were looking to repeat their feat of last season of being the only team to beat the Titans in 3 years.

It was a close fought match in the opening half, played in attrocious conditions with both teams trading tries. In the second half however the titans started to gel and took a strangle-hold on the game, managing to nill their opponents in the second half to run out 46 - 16 victors. The win was subdued somewhat with the news that loose forward and Irish A international Mark Tuhy looks to be out for the remainder of the season following a knee injury sustained in the opening minutes of the game. We all wish Mark a speedy recovery.
